RONNIE SCOTT’S ALLSTARS
DOUBLE BILL WITH SCOTT HAMILTON & THE CHAMPIAN FULTON TRIO, THE EVERYMAN
SUNDAY 29TH OCTOBER @ 2:30PM
Direct from London’s world-famous jazz club and combining world-class jazz, narration and rare archive images, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars take to the stage of The Everyman to celebrate the Jazz Club’s exclusive linkage with the 2017 Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.
Since its humble beginnings as a basement bar in the depths of London’s Soho, through to the internationally acclaimed music venue it is today, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club has showcased the music of some of the world’s greatest and most influential jazz artists.
Over six decades, the club has hosted landmark performances from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Nina Simone and Sonny Rollins as well as appearances by Michael Bublé, Jamie Cullum, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis and Prince.
Ronnie Scott’s is the most historic venue of its kind on this side of the Atlantic Ocean and has always been on the cutting edge; the first place to catch rising stars, visionary artists, and the best performers in jazz.
The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars will be presenting their ‘Soho Songbook’ show at The Everyman, a musical glimpse into a unique world and its incredible history, led by the Club’s Musical Director and pianist James Pearson. It will feature many classics from the ‘Great American Songbook’ and is a ‘must’ for all jazz lovers.
This concert will also be a celebration of the dry wit of Ronnie Scott, the Club founder and jazz sax legend who performed as the headliner at the first edition of the Cork Jazz Festival, forty years ago.
